PURPOSE: Located in Cary this agency provides services to Sharkey and Issaquena Counties through outreach programs. The focus of all programs is to break cycles of poverty through relationships one person at a time.  Programs include emergency assistance, volunteer home repairs, parenting outreach support through home visits, parenting classes, career training, after-school and summer programs for children, and operates the Treasure Chest Thrift Store in Rolling Fork.

PURPOSE: To instill the necessary skills in children and youth to enable them to abstain from negative, risky and self-defeating behaviors that are associated with drug use, premarital sex, school dropout, and other delinquent behaviors. Revitalizes and expands the capacity of failing students. Provides after-school tutoring and a 6-week summer leadership camp.

PURPOSE: Located in Port Gibson; this agency’s volunteers provide services focused on senior and low-income families. Services include food packages, house repairs, medicines, utility assistance, counseling for inmates, assistance for abused and transient persons, and visits to homebound, elderly individuals.

PURPOSE: Grace Christian Counseling Center is a professional counseling service for individuals, couples, families, and groups seeking help for major life issues and mental health conditions, which includes grief, anxiety, loss and recovery, anger management, parenting, divorce and separation, and many other concerns. PURPOSE: Promotes violence-free living and self-sufficiency through community-wide educational programs; and through support to victims of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault. Victim services are confidential and free, and include a 24-hour crisis line, group and individual counseling, case management, therapeutic child care, court advocacy, information and referral, and for those who need it, emergency shelter and transitional housing with food, clothing, transportation, and other essentials.

PURPOSE: Provides an intensive speech/language and hearing program for children through self-contained classes and individualized instruction. The school partners with the MS Department of Health to provide services to families with infants statewide. Early intervention screening for infants 0-3 are completed by licensed auditory personnel through home-based outpatient therapy.

PURPOSE: Provides a complete range of rehabilitation, employment, and skills training to the handicapped adult population of Warren County. This is provided through developmental services for multi-handicapped, sheltered workshops, social services, job coaching, community job placement, and transportation.

 

 

PURPOSE: Motto: “We are moving mountains one by one” restoring the lives of homeless women and children. Dedicated to serving others through feeding, clothing, sheltering, and motivating those in need. Programs include emergency shelter, transitional housing, life skills, and job training through the shelter’s thrift store Finders Keepers.

The mission is to improve the lives of children by providing supportive services to families through preventive strategies to break the cycle of abuse and improve the quality of family life. PURPOSE: Provides parenting education for first or second-time parents and their children. Services include prenatal classes, home visits, preschool education program and parenting classes. A mentoring program also works with youth age 10-17 to prevent teen pregnancies, alcohol and drug abuse and school failure by promoting positive life choices.
