At United Way of West Central Mississippi, community resiliency means ensuring individuals, families, and nonprofits have the resources and support needed to withstand and recover from life’s challenges. From natural disasters to personal crises, we work to strengthen the fabric of our community by building a reliable safety net.

Our Community Resiliency efforts include a Resource Hub that connects people to resources throughout our community; a Volunteer Hub that mobilizes individuals and groups to serve where help is needed most; and disaster relief coordination to ensure quick and effective response when emergencies arise. We also work alongside nonprofit partners to enhance their ability to serve during times of crisis.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected, and more prepared community—one that can bounce back and thrive no matter what challenges come our way.

When crisis strikes, United Way of West Central Mississippi is there to respond—quickly, compassionately, and effectively. Our Disaster Relief efforts are focused on helping individuals and families recover and rebuild after natural or man-made emergencies such as floods, tornadoes, fires, and public health crises.

We work in partnership with local agencies, emergency management teams, and community organizations to provide immediate support including food, water, temporary shelter, hygiene supplies, and financial assistance. But our work doesn’t stop there—we also focus on long-term recovery by connecting individuals to critical resources like housing support, mental health services, and much more.

Through coordinated volunteer mobilization and the generosity of donors, we ensure that those affected are not alone. Our goal is to restore hope, rebuild stability, and strengthen the resiliency of our communities—because when disaster hits, united we rise.
