A native of Yazoo City, Liz’s life experiences took her first to New Orleans, then to Houston and Dallas before returning to the Magnolia State and the beauty of Yazoo County.
She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Southern Methodist University and worked as a newspaper reporter for a decade before transitioning to public relations. Liz’s career encompasses internal communications, media relations, community relations, and philanthropy across various industries, including natural gas pipelines, commercial port operations, waste management, and shipbuilding. For the past three years, Liz has been the communications manager at International Paper’s Vicksburg Mill. She serves as treasurer on the executive board of the United Way of West Central Mississippi.
She is a road cyclist, a half-marathon runner, and a scrapbooker. Harking back to her love of New Orleans, Liz is a member of the Krewe of Cork, a walking Mardi Gras krewe. She reads a lot of Stephen King.
