Become a Volunteer Mentor:

A volunteer youth mentor is someone who dedicates their time to support and guide young people, helping them build skills, confidence, and resilience. They provide a positive role model, offer emotional support, and encourage personal growth, often by sharing experiences, teaching life skills, and fostering a safe, trusting environment.

Research shows a positive mentoring relationship can result in both immediate and long-term benefits for students including:

  • Higher academic performance
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Positive attitudes about school
  • Stronger relationships with other adults and peers

To Become a volunteer mentor:

  • Be at least 21 years old and pass the mandated background checks
  • Commit to a minimum of a one-school year frame
  • Participate in a training session
  • Adhere to the Mentor Program Guidelines
  • Meet with their mentee at least once per month on campus, for 30 minutes

We have been tremendously blessed this school year to have 40 after-schoolers.  That is A LOT of little people.  We are in need of people with willing hearts who are interested in helping children with their homework.

It could be as simple as one day a week helping kindergarten students or if you prefer we can identify students who need assistance and partner you for greater impact.  It would be 2 days a week.  Times vary but are typically from 3-5:30.

Volunteers can come anytime within that allotted time.
