United Way of West Central Mississippi empowers people to get on stable financial ground. We do this by collaborating with our partner agencies and other community organizations committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through internship opportunities, workforce assistance training, emergency assistance for rent and utilities, affordable housing, sliding scale access to daycare, mental health and medical services.
Our financial stability goal is to promote financial stability and independece for familes and individuals by addressing the following target issues:

Our Funded Programs with Partner Agencies
Christian Volunteer Services
Emergency Assistance – provides care and basic emergency needs to the elderly, disabled and poor in Claiborne County.
Parent Aide/ Parent Education Program – improves the lives of children by providing supportive services to area families through focusing on prevention of child abuse and neglect, and teaches parenting skills through a national curriculum.
Women’s Restoration Shelter – restores the lives of homeless women and their children through food, clothing, shelter, and assistance with job placement and future living arrangements.
Emergency Assistance – provides assistance to families facing emergencies with basic needs.
Affordable Housing – to provide affordable housing for low-income individuals and families.
