Warren County Children's Shelter


Description of agency / service
Warren County Children’s Shelter Provides emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling and referrals for abused, neglected, runaway and homeless children and youth.  All residents obtain a physical and dental examination.  A psychological and vision screen are obtained as referred for a physician. Crisis intervention and family preservation counseling for families of runaway and homeless youth.  Provides educational presentations to schools and community agencies.

Abused and neglected, runaway and homeless children and youth

Who is eligible?   
Children and youth referred by the Department of Human Services for placement, ages 0-17.  DHS children and youth may stay for up to 45 days.
Children and youth referred by a variety of sources as runaway and homeless, ages 10-17.  Runaway and homeless youth may stay up to 21 days.

Where services are offered (area)
Warren County always takes preference.  Out of counties are served, if space is available, but are asked to be removed should Warren County need the bed space.
