Healthy, Wealthy, & Wise
Learning to Improve Financial Health, Increase Wealth,
and Make Wise Consumer Choices
Take control of your financial future
and brush up on your financial literacy
skills by attending a workshop in the Mississippi Delta counties of
Claiborne, Issaquena, Sharkey, Warren and Yazoo.
United Way of West Central Mississippi
has been awarded a two year grant to be used to teach financial literacy skills
in a workshop format in the Mississippi Delta counties of Claiborne, Issaquena,
Sharkey, Warren and Yazoo. The workshop series, known as “Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise” will bring
much needed awareness to the region it will serve!
This program is made possible by a
grant from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Investor
Education Foundation through a partnership with United Way Worldwide.
The financial resource to be used is an
existing program. “Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise,” a financial education program provided
by the Mississippi State University Extension Service, is a consumer education
and financial workshop series that demonstrates how to avoid financial problems
while teaching ways to improve financial health, increase wealth, and to make
wise consumer choices. Best of all – it’s free!!
Twelve (12) topics will be presented in
a total of 6 workshops. All workshops will address the basic financial information
that participants will need to build financial independence. Each topic
consists of a 4-5 page written publication with hands-on activities, a video,
and additional teaching resources.
